   Once upon a time, there was a little porcelain doll. Her skin was as white as the purest snow, her lips as red as blood, and her hair as black as death and as fine as the smoothest silk.  To complete the picture of perfection, her eyes were a piercing lapis lazuli that looked as deep as the ocean and as clear as the sky.  Her maker was very poor indeed, and he considered her to be his masterpiece.    As time ticked on, he passed away, leaving the little porcelain doll to his son. His son was a poor shop owner, and he didn't give her so much of a second glance before he placed her on a shel
